Private sector educational institutions have the responsibility to know what laws apply to them and to comply with those laws. They also have the right to expect and to demand that certain other parties, including governments and regulatory agencies, live up to their legal obligations and comply with the laws that govern and constrain their powers and activities.

This session will review business law fundamentals, specific laws that govern the private education sector and how these laws are applied and impact institutions and students. It will examine the field of administrative law that governs and constraints agencies of government such as those that regulate private education. Participants will walk away with new skills that allow them to analyze their environments and more effectively identify legal issues when or preferably before they arise. They can then act accordingly by themselves or with legal counsel to satisfy their legal obligations, enforce their legal rights and require that others also act within the law.
