The BC Career Colleges Association was set up in 1977 to promote and support those involved in private post-secondary education. Our aim is to ensure that the private training industry is recognized for the high level training and student satisfaction it delivers. With a shortage of skilled workers in B.C. and inadequate seats in the public post-secondary system, private institutions are a vital part of the education picture in this province.

ACCREDITATION

Accreditation is a process undertaken by schools who wish to prove their excellence by external standards and increase consumer confidence in their educational product. The process is controlled by the PCTIA (Private Career Training Institutions Agency), the organization that regulates the private post-secondary education sector in British Columbia. Successful completion of the accreditation process confirms a school's performance in a number of areas including program outcomes, instructional staff and student satisfaction rates. When searching through the list of BCCCA member schools, look for the PCTIA symbol that indicates that a school is accredited.
